About Me
My name is Andrea Alvarez.
With more than 10 years of experience in the Florida Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) program — both as a classroom teacher and as an administrator — I have worked closely within the structure, standards, and expectations that shape early childhood education in our state.
Throughout my career, I have seen the challenges educators face, the accountability required within VPK programs, and most importantly, the incredible impact we can make when children receive strong, intentional early instruction.
I created this space to support Preschool teachers, Florida VPK educators, and parents who understand that the early childhood years are not just important — they are foundational.
My experience has led me to develop practical, classroom-ready resources designed to strengthen early literacy and math skills while aligning with the real expectations of Florida’s VPK program. These tools are created from hands-on experience — not theory — and are intended to support educators in building confident, well-prepared learners.

As an educator with over 20 years of experience, I have seen firsthand how critical the early years are in laying the foundation for a child’s academic success.
That’s why I’m so excited to introduce my specialized curriculum, designed to reinforce math and literacy skills in young learners – in a fun, engaging, and effective way!
What is it?
My curriculum is crafted with the unique developmental needs of preschoolers in mind, blending structured learning with opportunities for creativity and exploration.
The focus is on foundational math concepts and early literacy skills, both of which are essential for young children as they begin their academic journey.

What is included in the Curriculum Pacing Guide?
This pacing guide offers a variety of activities that integrate seamlessly into any preschool curriculum already being used in your classroom.
You will get an overview of 10 full months with suggestions for activities that reinforce essential Math and Literacy skills that other preschool curriculums may lack. It is aligned to the Florida VPK standards!
The activities can be easily incorporated into your existing lesson plans to better prepare your students for Kindergarten and the STAR FAST VPK assessment.
What is included in the 10 month Lesson Plan Bundle?
The lesson plans will give you a more in-depth guide of which activity to do daily with your children in the classroom.
You will get 10 full months with specific suggestions of activities to reinforce essential Math and Literacy skills daily. The lesson plan bundle is also aligned to the Florida VPK standards!
It includes intentional Literacy activities that include phonological awareness: rhyming, alliteration, blending, segmenting, deletion, and substitution. Math activities that go from number recognition to simple addition and simple subtraction.
